ORAL HYGIENE
INSTRUCTIONS
TOOTHBRUSH A Soft Bristle Toothbrush or an
Electric Toothbrush (OralB) is to be used at least Twice a
day. Make small Circular Motions. Try brushing your
Tongue.
|

|
TOOTHPASTE
A Fluoride
Toothpaste is best for reducing the number of cavities. For
those who have Sensitive teeth and roots, use DENQUEL, PROMISE, or
SENSODYNE
toothpaste. After 4 to 6 weeks, you should see a
decrease in sensitivity. A Tarter Control Toothpaste
is also effective.

|
MOUTHWASH
Most Mouthwashes on the market
are quite good. The newer Fluoride Mouth Rinses
will help reduce tooth decay. Try FLUORIGARD or ACT.

|
DENTAL FLOSS
Used once a day, this will
be the most effective in keeping your teeth and gums in the best of
health. Usually a piece about 12 inches wrapped around the fingers,
or tied in a loop with a knot holding the two ends will be very easy
to use. Be sure to clean between all your teeth. Being systematic
makes it faster and easier. If recommended, use a PROXABRUSH.

|
DIET Decreasing the amount of Sugar, Sweets, and
Carbohydrates eaten daily will give the bacteria on the teeth and
gums less food. And cleaning your teeth regularly will keep the
bacteria to a minimum. If you have sweets, it's a good idea to rinse
your mouth with water afterwards.

CLEANING &
CHECK-UP Your
regular Twice-A-Year check-up for a Full Mouth Oral Exam,
Periodontal/Gum Exam, and Teeth Cleaning will help you keep your
teeth healthy for a long time.
|

AGING The same bacteria that causes tooth decay also
causes Periodontal Gum Disease (Pyorrhea). In
addition, people over thirty years old start showing signs of Gum
Recession, Bone Loss, and Mobile Teeth. It is a fact that adults
lose more teeth from periodontal disease than from tooth decay. By
using good oral hygiene techniques, you'll be able to significantly
reduce bone loss and tooth decay. |
